‘I’ve attended a number of Dava’s skills training sessions, including downhill running and navigation, both of which I have found really useful. He has a wide knowledge and experience of both fell running and mountain craft which compliments the training he does. Dava plans his sessions so that they are both fun and informative and always has time to offer help and support if needed. I would definitely recommend any of Dava’s training.’

‘I signed up to do Dava’s technical uphill & downhill training session with some trepidation. I’m not the fastest runner and have reservations about scrambles and exposed edges. On the day Dava was very approachable and explained what we would be doing and that there would always be options for those that didn’t want to do the harder sections. There was a point when I started to feel I was out of my comfort zone, but Dava quickly gave me an alternative strategy that improved my confidence and led me to feel able to push myself a bit further on subsequent sections. The group consisted of mixed ability and experience, and everyone was catered for and got something out of it. My confidence over technical terrain has improved massively and I felt able as a result to enter (and complete) the Causey Pike fell race which had a lot of similar challenges. Thank you Dava for your help.’

‘I’ve attended many of Dava’s training and skills sessions in the last few years, including uphill training, downhill training and also navigation sessions and they’ve all been excellent. All the sessions were planned to be skill and comfort level inclusive and have allowed me to push beyond my own comfort zone in a controlled and supportive environment. Dava is extremely experienced and knowledgeable, and his sessions have all been friendly, relaxed and engaging which has provided a great learning environment. The skills I have acquired via these sessions are proving invaluable in my training and races and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dava or any of the sessions he provides.’
